Behavioral Health Generations (BHG) is an
alliance of Ohio Alcohol, Drug
and Mental Health Service (ADAMHS)
Boards formed in 1995 as a Council of Governments (COG) pursuant
to Chapter 167 of the Ohio Revised Code.
Purpose
The purpose of the organization is to help our members and
their provider agencies reduce cost, improve productivity
and enhance the quality of their services through sharing
resources and information. BHG provides opportunities for
its members to:
- Achieve administrative efficiencies and cost savings through
outsourcing non-mission critical administrative functions
- Participate in a forum of Board and provider collaboration
- Promote synergy and a collective voice in activities to
establish standards and to meet increasing quality of care
requirements.
BHG Vision
The members of BHG shall collectively acquire experience,
conduct research, and develop skills in the delivery of healthcare
services to both the Medicaid eligible and non-Medicaid eligible
population. Members will jointly plan, fund, operate and manage
a system of behavioral healthcare that provides access to
the most appropriate quality services in the least restrictive
environment.
The system will satisfy customers, yield positive customer
outcomes and embrace state-of-the-art technologies. The system
will be established consistent with applicable state healthcare
reforms, administrative rules and statutes. Such systems of
care shall include behavioral healthcare services paid in
full or part by public funds provided to enrolled individuals
residing in the counties that the members represent.
Services Offered by BHG
BHG provides a full spectrum of administrative services to
our member boards to assist them in fulfilling their statutory
requirements under the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative
Code as well as the guidelines set forth by the Ohio Department
of Mental Health and Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction
Services.
By out-sourcing these activities to an Administrative Services
Organization (ASO), our members can reduce their operating
costs by sharing the burden of providing these services thus
achieving an economy of scale unavailable to them individually.
Additionally, BHG provides a forum for the exchange of ideas
and the development of best practices to facilitate a continuous
quality improvement process.
